Sensus, a Raleigh-based clean technology solutions company, raised more than $34,000 for Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina during their Charity Golf Classic held last Saturday. The event took place at The Crossings Golf Course in Durham, N.C., and drew more than 100 participants including Wake County resident Brandon Kerstetter who received his wish to play golf at Pebble Beach last year.
One hundred percent of the proceeds generated from the event were donated to help grant wishes to local children with life-threatening medical conditions just like Brandon.
“Sensus is committed to the communities we serve and is proud to demonstrate this through events like our second charity golf tournament benefitting Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina,” said Jim Mundell, vice president of customer operations at Sensus. “We appreciate the Kerstetter family, for participating and representing the real impact this charity has for wish recipients, and our employees and sponsors for making this another successful event.”
In the past year, Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina granted a record 202 wishes, according to Ken Baroff, the organization’s vice president of development. “Every one of those wishes represents a milestone for a child, their family, and in many cases an entire community. Without the generous support of our family of supporters, none of this would be possible. So you can be sure the efforts of companies like Sensus are making a real difference in the lives of the kids we are privileged to serve.”
