After a fall on the playground became a warning sign, Nicholas’ doctors found a tumor in his spinal cord. Doctors chose not to remove the whole tumor due to threat of paralysis. As a result there is a high risk of tumor regrowth. Weekly chemotherapy sessions became routine for Nicholas and his family.
With a love of all things Mickey and a desire to meet other characters, Nicholas wished to go to Walt Disney World® Resort. While Nicholas’ older sister, Rachel, sought the autographs of beloved Disney princesses, one of them gave Nicholas a kiss on his face that left a lipstick mark. After that, Nicholas made it a mission to get kissed by all of the princesses.
Nicholas had a blast at Give Kids the World Village where most wish families stay as they partake on their central Florida wishes. One fun occasion at the village was a dance party. “We learned he had some serious dance moves we didn’t know about,” remarked Nicholas’ mom, Jennifer.
“The wish took place right before Nicholas’ last chemotherapy cycle. It was perfect timing allowing us a little extra needed push as well as a break from the difficult treatment routine.”
