Like most young girls Zoe had dreams of meeting Cinderella and going to the ball. Her wish was granted when Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina sent Zoe and her family to Disney World in February 2012.
“For the first time (Zoe) truly felt like a girly girl and a princess”, Zoe’s mother Kandi said. On the first day of her magical trip Zoe met Cinderella and had a make-over from her “fairy godmother” in the Bippity Boppity Boutique. She was adorned with slippers and a Cinderella gown. Although Zoe’s hair had just started growing back from her treatments, it was done up with a crown to top.
Zoe enjoyed staying at the Give Kids the World Village where she delighted in ice cream, the wishing well, the castle, water park and relaxing in the pool.
“While the princess experience was thrilling the magic of seeing Cinderella’s castle and the fireworks dazzle in her the first night was more than magical. Somehow, the experience filled and affirmed in us the hope we have been holding on to,” Kandi said.
Their week was filled with magical experiences that are embedded in their hearts and minds. Zoe she was able to live the life of a Princess and during her trip she did not have to worry about being sick, her time was spent with blessings, laughter and memories that gives her courage for a road to recovery.
