Georgia was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth. Her first surgery was at one day old.
She normally does all right according to her mom, Olympia. But in order to stay that way, Georgia requires lots of medications and treatments. By the age of 2, she was swallowing pills without a problem. Her condition is one that gets worse over time and one that has no cure.
As part of her wish experience, Georgia received the opportunity to go to the Walt Disney World® Resort and stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Olympia commented that there were so many memorable moments of the trip. What was truly special was that the family’s room was located on the concierge level. “It really made her trip,” said Olympia. “The monorail goes through the Grand Floridian so Magic Kingdom is an easy commute. You can also see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom and Epcot from there. It’s a very magical place.”
The family will remember every detail of the trip, and Georgia got her wish at an age that she will remember the experience forever. “It has meant so much for us,” remarked Olympia. “It just changed her. She was a different child through the whole process. She felt special.”
