Volunteering is a great way to help. We invite you to share the power of a wish® whether you can give a few hours each month or a few days each year. Our chapter volunteers are part of a nationwide network of 35,000 caring people dedicated to making wishes come true.
You can help make the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions come true in your local community when you become a volunteer for Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. Our mission is only possible with the dedication of our volunteers.
Steps to Volunteer
All volunteers are asked to meet a series of requirements before becoming an active volunteer, including completing the volunteer application, attending a training session and submitting to relevant background checks.
STEP 1 - Volunteer Application
Click the link to the right to get started with the application! Please complete and return our Volunteer Application to the chapter office via mail:
Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina
Attn: Volunteer Program
3809 Computer Drive, Suite 201
Raleigh, NC 27609
STEP 2 – Take On-Line Training Courses
You will then take a series of on-line training courses which you can complete from the comfort of your own home.
STEP 3 - Background Check
Due to the nature of our work, select volunteer positions must successfully complete a criminal background check every 3 years. Once your application is completed and returned to us, you will be walked through the background check screening process.
STEP 4 - Attend a Training Session
You will then register for one of our informational training sessions. You'll receive information regarding date, time and location after the first three steps have been completed.
STEP 5 - Get Involved!
After the completion of all 4 steps – you will be ready for your first volunteer assignment. We look forward to working with you!
