Sensus, a Raleigh-based public service infrastructure solutions provider, is helping to make wishes come true for children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. The company raised a record $56,000 at its annual Charity Golf Classic held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University. Despite rainy weather conditions, the third-year event featured 126 golfers. The Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $124,000 since the event was established in 2013.
“We are grateful to the Sensus family for making this year’s event so successful,” said Bob Frazier, Vice President of Development for Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina. “Their commitment and support allow us to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences to our wish kids in eastern North Carolina.”
During this past year, Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina granted 200 wishes, representing more than one wish every other day. With the average cost of a wish at $7,500, the Sensus employee donation will go a long way towards putting smiles on faces of children and their families.
“Sensus is helping to make our communities a better place by supporting organizations such as the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina,” said Todd Boyle, Chief People Officer at Sensus. “Working together with our employees, customers and partners, we know we can make a difference for our neighbors, our communities and our future.”
