Olympic Steel, a national metals service center, helped 11-year-old Max enjoy a Nickelodeon cruise aboard the Norwegian Getaway as part of his wish experience with Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina earlier this month. A wish party will be held on Thursday, October 9 to honor the Durham County native who has leukemia.
Employees from Olympic Steel’s Siler City location held several fundraising events during the month of July to help fund Max’s wish. Events included corn hole tournaments, yard sales, car washes and coin drives among other activities that helped fund Oliver’s wish. A recognized supporter of Make-A-Wish® since 2004 through their corporate Working for Wishes campaign, Olympic Steel has donated more than $38,000 to Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina to grant local wishes.
