Charity Golf Classic benefits children with life-threatening medical conditions
MORRISVILLE, N.C. (September 24, 2013) — Sensus, a Raleigh-based clean technology solutions company, raised $34,000 for Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina at the Charity Golf Classic last Saturday. The event took place at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on North Carolina State University’s campus and drew more than 130 participants.
One hundred percent of the proceeds generated from the event were donated to Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
“Sensus is committed to making an impact both globally and locally through community organizations,” said John Stafford, executive vice president at Sensus. “Thank you to our employees, partners, generous donors and the great people at Make-A-Wish for making this event possible and doing so much to help local children with life-threatening medical conditions.”
“We are grateful to Sensus and to everyone who helped make this event so successful,” said Kristen Johnson, President & CEO for Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina. “Last year alone, our chapter granted a record 190 wishes to children in our region. The support of companies like Sensus and events like these help make wishes come true. Today, we have nearly 200 children waiting for their one true wish so the need is more urgent than ever.”
