MORRISVILLE, N.C. (December 10, 2013) —Olympic Steel, a national metals service center, helped nine-year-old Oliver meet his favorite magician as part of his wish experience with Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. A wish party will be held on Tuesday, December 10 to honor the Orange County native who has an uncommon blood disorder.
The event coincides with the wish granting organization’s annual Season of Wishes campaign when more than 30 wishes representing 19 counties of eastern North Carolina will be granted before the end of the calendar year. More information detailing how to support the granting of wishes can be found by visiting www.eastnc.wish.org.
Employees from Olympic Steel’s Siler City location held several fundraising events during the month of July to help fund Oliver’s wish. Events included corn hole tournaments, sumo wrestling matches, and coin drives among other activities that helped fund Oliver’s wish. A recognized supporter of Make-A-Wish® since 2004 through their corporate Working for Wishes campaign, Olympic Steel has donated more than $30,000 to Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina to grant local wishes.
