, announced that Mustaches for Kids
has donated $17,500 to the local wish granting organization. The donation is the result of the 2013 Mustaches for Kids fundraising campaign that culminated with the “Stache Bash” held at the Banks Channel Pub & Grille on December 6. Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina is one of six local charities to benefit from the campaign which raised more than $40,000.
“Mustaches for Kids is a way for individuals from the community to support wonderful children's charities in an easy and positive way,” said Stache Master Adam Keen
. “Completing our 10th year of growing and exceeding our fundraising goal is a testament to the commitment from our mustache growers and from those individuals who have financially supported us during the month long growing season. It's a blessing to be a part of this great group and we are looking forward to what the 2014 mustache growing season has in store.”
The donation will help grant wishes to local children with life-threatening medical conditions, supporting the annual Season of Wishes campaign. More than 30 wishes representing 19 counties of eastern North Carolina will be granted before the end of the calendar year.
Mustaches for Kids-Wilmington NC
is one of the nation’s largest chapters of a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has benefitted children’s charities since 1999. Participants grow mustaches for a month, collect pledges, then have its annual “Stache Bash” where all proceeds are delivered to local causes.
