To kick-off this year’s Believe Campaign, Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina and Macy’s of Southpoint will host 7-year-old Triniah of Durham, N.C., as she ceremoniously mails out the first letter on Nov. 9. Triniah will also experience having her wish of a mall shopping spree granted later in December on National Believe Day, which is Dec. 6.
Macy’s celebrates the holiday season’s spirit of generosity as the retailer launches its sixth annual “Believe” campaign benefiting Make-A-Wish. Beginning Nov. 9, “Believers” can bring their stamped letters to Santa to their local Macy’s, and for each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million, to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Macy’s “Believe” campaign invites children of all ages to mail their letters to Santa using Macy’s red Santa Mail letterboxes. For every letter mailed now through Dec. 24, Macy’s will donate $1, up to $1 million, to Make-A-Wish.
“Believe” is Macy’s signature holiday program, garnering support and participation from customers nationwide and resulting in more than $6.5 million in donations to Make-A-Wish since its launch. In addition to the letter collection drive, customers can join in the spirit of the holidays through other “Believe” elements, including a school musical program, a nationally televised animated special, activity guides for teachers and the return of the fifth annual National Believe Day.
