Date

August 30, 2013

Donation includes up to 30% of sales generated from 17 local participating restaurants

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (August 30, 2013)—Licensees representing the 17 area Zaxby’s restaurants who participated in the recent “Cause Card Campaign” jointly announced today that $103,978 was raised during the 10-day campaign to benefit Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina.  This donation will be used to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in the 49 counties of eastern North Carolina.

“We are truly overwhelmed by the incredible support we received from our guests during this campaign,” said licensee Tom Little who owns the Clayton, Goldsboro and Knightdale locations, as well as two locations in Raleigh.  “We would not have been able to make this contribution without the commitment from all of the licensees who generously signed up for the program.”

“Zaxby’s is a valued national partner who continues to demonstrate its dedication to Make-A-Wish,” stated Kristen Mercer Johnson, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina.  “We are fortunate and extremely grateful for the support of all of the owners and operators who serve our local communities.”

Guests who dined at the local participating Zaxby’s during the campaign had 10% of their bill donated.  Each time a guest returned to Zaxby’s and made a subsequent purchase between August 12 and August 21, the donation increased by 10%, with a maximum of 30%.  Participating Zaxby’s locations included Cary, Clayton, Durham, Erwin, Fayetteville, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Goldsboro, Hope Mills, Knightdale, Lillington, Lumberton, North Raleigh, Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Smithfield, and the newest location in Wake Forest.
